Steinbach Chamber of Commerce
The Steinbach Chamber of Commerce is an advocate for business and community in Steinbach,
Manitoba and acts as the anchor that connects them both. The Chamber works to improve
trade and commerce, support education, promote tourism, and work for the general
welfare of Steinbach and its surrounding area.
The Challenge
The Chamber recognized that its small office staff was performing a great deal of
manual work in managing its membership list and responding to requests from its
members and the public. As part of a complete operational review, the Chamber recognized
the necessity to integrate its member data, which was spread across a number of
sources including spreadsheets, text documents and a web site into one easily accessible
system.
The Results
Improved administrative processes, data integrity and public access to the Membership
list by implementing an integrated web portal for the agency
- Implemented a single Internet based data management system to combine all member
data into a single data management system.
- Provided searching capability to allow the Chamber to respond to public requests
for information.
- Provided the ability to generate mail and e-mail lists for communicating with members.
- Provided a window that is displayed within the Chamber’s website to allow the public
to search member data to find local services.
