SEED Winnipeg’s Asset Building Programs

SEED Winnipeg Inc. is a non-profit agency that fights poverty and helps renew Winnipeg's inner city. Services include money management training and savings programs, business management training, individual help, business advice and small business loans. SEED partners with a range of other organizations in the community in the area of community economic development.

The Challenge

SEED’s Asset Building Programs were growing and the existing data management systems did not meet their needs, being difficult to use and not reflecting data accurately.

The Results

Improved administrative processes and data integrity by implementing a web portal for the agency

• Automated the processing of client money records, including importing of financial institution transaction data and data processing according to complex rules.
• Created a reporting infrastructure to meet client, agency and funder needs.
• Provided a single record for all clients, managing data across multiple programs.
• Supported access by, and integration of data for partner agencies delivering programming in collaboration with SEED.
